Christine Renee Miller Co-Host and Producer

Christine fancies herself an expert. Perhaps it’s because she always seems to play one on screen. You can see her recurring on the CBS hit show, Blue Bloods as the snarky M.E. who constantly schools Donny Wahlberg. She also stars opposite Jim Parsons as the head cancer nurse in the Michael Showalter feature film, Spoiler Alert. And of course, playing an expert wouldn’t be replete without her current role as the new face of Lubriderm where she gets to be a quirky dermatologist who even wears a light blue lab coat (obviously she’s a real skin expert). Apart from these and other TV/Film roles (where she genuinely plays the character who knows most about the thing…it’s weird), she is a real-life expert in writing. Her solo shows Baby Cow and Such Nice Shoes, both garnered rave reviews in the New York City independent theater world as well as receiving a New York Innovative Theater award nomination. She teaches Playwriting at Wilkes University and is a writing coach to clients across the globe. Find out more at her website and follow her on Instagram or TikTok.

Jessica Goudeau Co-Host and Producer

Jessica is the author of After the Last Border: Two Families and the Story of Refuge in America, which won the J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize, a Christopher Award, and was named a New York Times Editors’ Choice book, among other accolades. Her next nonfiction book, We Were Illegal: Uncovering a Texas Family’s Mythmaking and Migrationcomes out in June 2024 with Viking. She has been a columnist for Catapult and written for The New York Times, The Atlantic, and Washington Post, as well as many other places. She produced short documentaries distributed by Teen Vogue and The New Yorker about young women crossing borders. She has a PhD in literature from the University of Texas and teaches Creative Nonfiction at Wilkes University. Her first book was challenged in a few libraries around the country, and she is preparing now for the inevitability that her second book—about her own family’s migration to Texas—will be banned. That’s part of why she wanted to start this podcast; also because she likes talking to Christine. Find out more at her website and follow her on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Threads, or Bluesky.
